For the 2024 eclipse, across the United States, I needed to pick a place on the way to Washington DC, where I was due for work directly after. My mom had come with me for the first “Great American Eclipse” in 2017, and we convinced my dad to come with us this time for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I picked Arkansas because I’d never been there before, and looked like it’d be clear for the eclipse. Turns out, a lot of the states were overcast. Arkansas had a storm front coming, but it held off for the eclipse! It started raining at dinner. What I’ve learned from 3 eclipses is that each of them have their own fingerprint. This one had some solar flares and a dimple on the bottom.
