About the Blog

As I mention in my first blog post, the purpose of this site is an attempt to organize all of my adventures, misadventures, photos, ideas, etc.

The name comes from my other interest in space, with an ode to the Air Force’s song: “Off we go into the wild blue yonder…”

Unlike many travel bloggers, I’m not doing this for a living. I have a full-time job and don’t travel as much as I want or should. Travel is a hobby, and I have others.

This blog is a dedication to my passion for travel. I hope others benefit from my experiences by learning something or simply enjoying the story.

About Me

I am native to California, which my parents always reminded me was paradise. But, they also plagued me with the travel bug at an early age – we have a family tradition that every kid gets to go wherever they want at the age of 9. Although my parents forced me to wear a tweed blazer around Europe and write in a travel journal, I’m forever grateful that they sparked my urge to see the world (and bought me an SLR camera). I’ve been itching for the next adventure ever since, and now I’m religious about keeping travel journals (I’ll leave the blazer at home).

Travel Partners

I’ve traveled with parents, friends, boyfriends and alone. Out of respect for their privacy, I have chosen not to share their names or faces.
